Performance is behavior, and behavior is bidirectional. If we cannot first manage our own emotions, we risk heading into leadership situations in an emotional state, which is likely to send managers and employees into a similar state. The task then fails to serve its purpose - to continuously grow and support each employee - and places each individual into an amygdala hijack, enhanced by looming unwritten messages, such as - “you are underperforming and it’s frustrating me”.read more
Writing makes me feel alive. I found this passion as a child when I began sneaking off into the woods to write songs and poetry on my “thinking rock." It is one of my greatest passions; so much so that I’ve included it in my definition of wellbeing for nearly two decades. For me this practice encourages authenticity, exploration and creativity—my top three values. While my journaling practice is private, every so often I get “the bug” and wish to share my thoughts with you here.
